What a wonderful weekend! Nothing spectacular, it just was a weekend and that is enough for me. I was able to get a good amount of things done around the house, watch each of my children play sports, host a play date for my daughter and a fantasy football draft for my husband, took the kids out to dinner at Steak 'n Shake (love their kids eat free promo...before we decided to splurge on dessert, my dinner total was $3.93 for the three of us to enjoy a satisfying dinner), and took care of returns and grocery shopping.
The week ahead is reasonably busy, but in spite of that, we are trying some new recipes this week. Of course, there are some familiar favorites on the menu too! If we like the recipes that we are trying, I will make sure to share them.
Sunday
cereal
pizza or sandwiches
Cincinnati Style Chili
Monday
Parmesan-Crusted Tilapia and Roasted Asparagus with Parmesan (new)
Tuesday
Chicken Patty Sandwiches or leftovers
Wednesday
Turkey Roast
Thursday
Pasta
Friday
Baked Swiss Chicken and Rice (new)
Saturday
cereal

dinner with friends
During the week, breakfast is usually a bowl of cereal or oatmeal. Lunches are either the hot lunch from school or packed lunches for the kids. My husband and I have leftovers, frozen meals or sandwiches.

I need to read more about your menu planning, how you go about it, shopping for it, etc. Now that it is just my hubby and me at home, my son is the world's pickiest eater, I can cook more often and make different things. I need to find recipes that also have the cost to make.
I need to start menu planning a bit more. It is a little difficult with my husband who is lactose intolerant.
Do you have a recipe for the Baked Swiss Chicken and Rice? I make the Campbell's basic chicken and rice recipe but I would love to try something different for my family.
