CVS Scenario - week of 9/15

It has been a while since I made a trip to CVS. It is funny, I pass by one on a near daily basis, but finding the time to stop is difficult. I am almost out of my daily vitamin and the stars aligned - it's on sale and there was a coupon in the paper - must mean I should go to CVS this week.

Transaction #1
3 - Dawn Dish Soaps

Total $3 OOP, earn $1 ECB. I was really surprised that I didn't have any coupons for this. The ones that were still in my organizer had all expired on 8/31.

Transaction #2
2 - Special K cereals

-$1 Kelloggs Cereal IP (coupons.com or join MyPoints and earn points when you print and redeem coupons)
-$1 Kelloggs Cereal IP

Pay with $1 ECB and $2 OOP. Earn $1 ECB.

Transaction #3
1 - Alive Vitamins

-$2 Alive Mfg coupon

Pay with $1 ECB and $6.21 OOP.

For the day, the total OOP is $11.21, which is less than the regular shelf price for the vitamins.

CVS $5 Scenario
Transaction #1
3 - Dawn Dish Soaps

Total $3 OOP, earn $1 ECB. I was really surprised that I didn't have any coupons for this. The ones that were still in my organizer had all expired on 8/31.

Transaction #2
2 - Special K cereals

-$1 Kelloggs Cereal IP (coupons.com or join MyPoints and earn points when you print and redeem coupons)
-$1 Kelloggs Cereal IP

Pay with $1 ECB and $2 OOP. Earn $1 ECB.

For this set of transactions, the total is $5 OOP, with $1 ECB to roll.

What deals will you take advantage of this week at CVS?

  1. I shop at CVS but never use the ecb's. I guess I have been throwing money out the window,

  2. Thanks for the heads up about these. I love to shop at CVS but have a hard time figuring out the match-ups as you have done here. I love the ECBs that I earn and now that I learned they will take their coupons even if they have expired it helps a lot!
