What a fun weekend and what a great game to top it off!
Friday evening was my son's school carnival. The kids both had a great time. We at our dinner at the carnival. Earth Fare had donated hot dogs and buns, but there were also nachos, super pretzels, soup, root beer floats, fresh squeezed lemonade and more. The 3rd graders held a bake sale and so there were plenty of cookies, cupcakes and brownies to choose from for dessert. There was a Cake Walk, a Balloon Artist (what do you call the people that make balloons into 'things'?), a Caricature Artist, a Pie Throwing booth and several small homemade games that I'm certain the school has had for about 40 years.
The weekend was spent hanging out with family. My parents came to visit and the kids were super excited. We all went to my son's basketball game in the morning. After the game, the kids spent time outside with Grandpa, building snowmen. There wasn't much snow (and I didn't even know it was going to snow), but they had a great time playing outside anyway. In the afternoon, we played some games and relaxed. We went out to dinner to a Japanese Steak House that night.
On Sunday, we had even more company. Our friend Cindy, who was in town from California, came over for the day. Cindy was a neighbor when I was a child & she and my mom were great friends. Our families spent a lot of time together when I was younger. Even when they moved away, we would go to visit for the weekend. Then, through a coincidental series of moves for me and for her family, we had the opportunity to become friends too when I was an adult. We spent the morning visiting and playing games. We enjoyed lunch out and then everyone headed their separate ways.
Sunday night, of course, was the Super Bowl. My husband, a born and raised Giants fan, was very excited and very happy with the outcome of the game. Since the Giants were in the game and since my son is getting older, we let him stay up to watch the whole game for the first time. Dinner was moments before game time. We had Buffalo Chicken Rolls (even made a few small ones with Wonton Wrappers). Then, we had a small spread of carrots, brownies & fudge and Goldfish crackers to snack on during the game. So different from the days when we threw parties with an expansive spread.

I love the sound of the Sonora Chicken Pasta! Thanks for the recipe link. I used to live off pasta but my OH isn't a massive fan of it but the beans and chicken makes this look like something he might enjoy.
Wow! You've sure been busy! Your menu sounds delicious. I'm also intrigued by the Sonora Chicken Pasta. I'll have to look that one up.
