We had a great and fun weekend. We had two picnics on Saturday and then spent the day relaxing, cleaning the house and shopping on the 4th (I know, how patriotic!). We are still all home today, so we have Slip'n Slide and some more shopping for mom on the agenda. I also hope to tackle more of my closet - I just got a new shelf and hope to get a better organization of some of my clothes with it. Right now they are stacked on the floor (more about my project later). To prep for the weekend, I made a quick trip to Walmart to pick up some Knox gelatin, buns and ground turkey for the weekend. I also used my two free Huggies PullUps coupons which were about to expire. The turkey was under $3 / pack, but the cashier rang them at the full $3 value - making my grocery total $0.19 OOP. I headed to Giant Eagle also this weekend, to take advantage of their Seafood Sale. I got 3# of Shrimp, 2# of canned crab meat, 6# of chicken, 3 cans of diced tomatoes, some snacks, 2 bottles of win, cherries, cabbage, celery, green peppers, sour cream, mayonnaise and a gallon of milk for $81 and even with no coupons (I know!) I saved $40 on the deals. Not only that, but I won a $5 Gift Card while checking out for knowing the answer to their trivia question. Bonus! The best part though was enjoying crab cakes and homemade slaw for dinner - yum!
This next weekend, the kids and I are off on a road trip to visit my brother and his family and the husband is on his own for dinner, so it is a really simple menu plan for me this week, with only a few nights to plan.
