Mamavation Monday - Vacation's Over

The kids and I took a quick mini-vacation to go to one of my brother's houses to celebrate his and my nephews birthday. It was a great little trip and I allowed myself to skip working out on the days we were gone. I did however still get some exercise. My nephew's party was at Pump it Up and for those of you that have not had the pleasure of racing your kids through the obstacle course or chasing them around the large bouncer, let me tell you, it is a serious leg workout. I guess that is part of the theory behind some of the trampoline workouts that are out there. In addition, we headed to the park one day for a little while and walked around and played and another day we headed to an outdoor mall for pictures and did some walking and shopping. Aside from that though, I got seriously off course of working out in the morning. Last week, I missed Monday because we were still gone and then I missed Friday because we had a garage sale. I worked out the other days, but not my standard P90X workout. Well, this week, the workout vacation has ended and I am back on track and in week one of Phase 2 of P90X. I am still in awe of what an amazing workout Plyometrics X is. I am sitting here, ten minutes after my workout, and I am still sweating. I feel good though. I have been struggling to get out of bed, but after I workout I am glad that I got up early.

While on my vacation, I allowed my eating to be more relaxed. I still tried to fill my plate with salad and vegetables, but alas there was more dessert and snacking than usual. Overall, while gone, I think I did okay, the problem was when I got back. I seemed to have no motivation to cook, so we ate some random meals and even ate out at Chipotle (I looked it up once and a burrito is enough calories that I almost don't even have to eat the rest of the day and will still meet my recommended daily caloric intake - couple that with a soda like I did and wowser! I ate probably twice as much as I should have that day). We had planned lunch out on Sunday, but that doesn't make a heavy meal of Eggplant Parmesan any less heavy. I seemed to be stuck on my snacking routine even once I returned. This week, the eating vacation has ended. I returned to fully tracking Points on Weight Watchers e-Tools again yesterday. I started measuring things again - I had gotten away from weighing and measuring everything, but figured I could use a full refocus and not go with my knowledge of what a portion looks like - you know those do seem to grow slowly over time. I also restocked my fridge with plenty of fruits and vegetables - plums, Chiquita Bananas, tomatoes, lettuce and more.

I returned to the scale and my Weight Watchers meeting. It was not a pretty picture, but certainly provided motivation that I must get back on track. The week has started out well - here is to a continued good week with some visible success on the scale - returning me back to pre-vacation or better!

No compensation was received for this post. By including Chiquita Bananas in my Mamavation post, I am entering for a chance to win a VIB Basket.

Shake off the bad eating and start fresh. That's the one good thing Mondays give us: a new week :) You'll be back on track in no time! Have a great week!

I went on vacay earlier in the month and slacked off too. But it helped my body get over the plateau and start losing again. So get back to your healthy habits and you'll see the scale moving in the right direction again!

Here's to a great week!

Sometimes a week of slacking helps you realize how good it feels to eat right and exercise; reinforce the idea that what you're doing is so very right! It sounds like you've got a great workout routine going. Keep it up, you're doing awesome! ~@fringies

It's okay to have time to slack as long as you come back and focus again. No one is perfect and no one needs to be. LOL

Glad you had FUN!
