Now that grilling season is upon us, I am looking forward to some marinated grilled Marlin. It just has such a great flavor and is something different to mix into the menu. Fish actually is a pretty regular part of our menu. We don't have it weekly all year, but the kids enjoy breaded fish fillets, we like shrimp, we like grilled marlin and more. When I have fish, one of my favorite accompaniments is cole slaw. I know that you can purchase prepared coleslaw from the deli or you could buy a jar of slaw dressing, but it really is very easy to whip up at home. I have had good cole slaw and bad cole slaw (by my perspective), I must say that if you include celery seed, I am out. I like a nice creamy, crunchy slaw. I prefer my cabbage shredded vs chunky or diced. I occasionally will mix in some carrots - matchstick or shredded works. I make my recipe "light" by using a reduced fat Mayonnaise.
Cole Slaw
Ingredients
4 c shredded cabbage
1/2 tsp salt
1/2-1 tsp garlic pepper
2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp vinegar
1 cup of mayonnaise
Combine all the ingredients other than the cabbage in a bowl. Pour over cabbage. Stir and let sit in refrigerator for a while. Stir before serving.

This sounds tasty! I've never had marlin. My hubby fishes off San Diego in Mexican waters. My freezer is filled to the brim with tuna tuna ane more tuna! :)
