Walgreens Deals - 2/1

I never get to Walgreens and I rarely even get their ad. So, when I realized that I would have the chance, I previewed the ad online and checked out posts looking for coupon match-ups. I think I did pretty well. I didn't keep any RR, deciding it was better to use them since I was uncertain when I might return again.

Here is what I got:

and how I did it...
Transaction #1
1 - Blink Tears, gel

-$1.50 Blink IP

Total $6.49 (plus tax). Earned an $8 RR.

Transaction #2
2 - Joint Juice Sticks

-$10 BOGO IP
-$8 RR from Transaction #1

Total $2.00 (plus tax). Earned a $10 RR.

Transaction #3
1 - Blink Tears, gel
2 - Keebler Cookies
1 - Speedstick
1 - Russel Stover Heart (filler)

-$1.50 Blink IP
-$1 Keebler mfg coupon
-$1 Keebler mfg coupon
-$1.30 Speedstick Wags coupon
-$.50 Speedstick Mfg coupon
-$10 RR from Transaction #2

Total $1.27 (plus tax). Earned a $8 and $2 RR.

Transaction #4
1 - Vitamin Lip balms
1 - Russel Stover Heart (filler)

-$2 RR from Transaction #3

Total $.28 (plus tax). Earned a $2 RR.

Transaction #5
1 - Bertolli Frozen Meal
2 - Act II 3ct box
2 - Cheezit

-$1 Bertolli Mfg coupon
-$.50 Cheezit Mfg coupon (couldn't find my $1/2 coupon)
-$1.00 Act II Wags coupon
-$8 RR from Transaction #3
-$2 RR from Transaction #4

Total $1.49 (no tax, all food). Earned a $2 RR.

Not wanting to lose my $2 RR, I went back and picked up milk. Of course, it was on sale, so I grabbed one more filler too!

Transaction #6
1 - Gallon Milk
1 - Russel Stover Heart

-$2 RR from Transaction #5

Total $0.18 (no tax, all food).

In the end, my OOP for this visit was $11.71 (plus tax = $14.31) and I saved $88.48 (a savings of 88%).

Now, normally I probably wouldn't have bought the Joint Juice, but it was one of those deals that since I was there, I couldn't pass up. I tried to get Q-tips with the coupon from their ad online, but it called for a 285ct and I could only find a 300 and 375ct - which beeped at checkout, so I left them behind.

One of the requests in my reader survey was Walgreens scenarios/deals. I might have to try to build some deals from time to time, even if I'm not sure I will get out. I could have been better prepared today and I think that if I build them, then at least I can gauge whether it is worth the trip. I can't promise them every week, but will do my best (easier if I actually get an ad, which I don't always).
