After a few weeks of not getting in a regular shopping trip, we headed to the grocery store this afternoon. We got some great deals at the first store, including 8 jars of pasta sauce, 10 cups of yogurt, 3 boxes of cereal, 75 sq ft foil, 4 canned vegetables, 2 pounds of Barilla pasta, 2 8-oz blocks of cream cheese, 1 loaf of Wonder Whole Grain White, 1 bag of Nestle chocolate chips, some Kraft barbecue sauce, a DiGirono Flat Bread Melt and a couple of other things for under $35. Our next stop was for produce, deli meat and milk.
This week starts the summer session for my husband. This means that he will be eating on his own, or leftovers after class. It makes my menu planning a lot simpler, because I tend to make "real" meals the nights he is home and we have leftovers, freezer meals and such on the nights that he has class.
At our house, the focus is on dinners. I tend to only list the main course and any standard side we have with it. We do still tend to have vegetables and/or fruit with each of our dinners, I just don't always call them out.

Weekdays breakfast is at daycare for my daughter, the rest of us eat cold cereal, frozen waffles, oatmeal, toast or whatever strikes our fancy. Lunch we pack, usually leftovers for me. My son either packs or buys lunch at school. If he packs, it is generally a lunch meat sandwich or a PB&J with some sides.
