I finally made it to CVS this week. I toted my coupons around with me, but never seemed to have the time to stop. In fact, when I did finally stop, it wound up being at my least favorite location. Normally, I would have waited until I could get to one of my regular stores, but I wanted to make sure I got the deals, so I stopped in despite my feelings.
Here is what I got:
Transaction #1
1 - Colgate Total
2 - Herbal Essence Shampoo/Conditioner
2 - Neutrogena Facial Bars
-$1.50 Colgate mfg coupon
-$3 $3/2 Herbal Essence mfg coupon
Paid with $9.98 ECB and $.79 OOP. Earned $2.99, $2 and $10 ECBs.
Transaction #2
1 - Gillette Shampoo
2 - Suave 12oz Body Wash
1 - Suave 11oz Hair Spray
-$2 Gillette Shampoo mfg coupon
-$1 Suave Body Wash IP
-$1 Suave Body Wash IP
-$2 Suave free coupon from Suavenomics campaign
Paid with $2 and $2.99 ECBs from Transaction #1 and $.38 OOP. Earned $3 and $2 ECBs.
I started the day with $9.98 and $3 in ECBs and ended the day with $10, $3, $3, and $2 ECBs. I realized a net gain of $5.02 in ECBs, with only $1.17 OOP.

Why do you make your purchases in several transactions?
ReplyDeleteBy doing multiple transactions, I am better able to use my ECBs. I use the ECBs earned in one transaction to pay for the next. This allows me to reduce the OOP.
ReplyDeleteDo you make several transactions in one visit? I mean do you pay and then turn around and get more stuff and pay again? Also what is OOP? I'm still learning the ropes.

ReplyDeleteI generally do them all on the same visit.
Usually I get all the items in my basket and then just place my orders on the counter one at a time. If there is a line, I will do one transaction, move to the end of the line, etc.
Sometimes, I do one transaction and then based on coupons generated at the register, go back and get more.
OOP is Out of Pocket
CRT is the coupon that prints on your receipt.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteI totally missed out on the Sauve deal last week, bummer. I live 9 miles from cvs and had no reason to go by the time I heard of the deal. Win some lose some, I have to keep telling my self!
